Only 20 minutes from Downtown Halifax, Fisherman’s Cove is one of Nova Scotia's oldest and newest tourist destinations.
Enjoy the sounds of the ocean and views that'll have you stopping for another roll of film. Watch the fishermen come in with their daily catch; you can buy their fish right here! Take a boat ride and explore McNabs Island. You can also learn the great history of Fisherman’s Cove by enjoying a historic walk of the area.
If you like to shop, you'll love the many shops of Fisherman’s Cove. There is a beautiful gallery where you can purchase the art of local artists and our other shops where you can purchase souvenirs, Maritime art crafts, unique folk art, and much more (visit our shops & services page). As you wander through the shops you might see local artists capturing some of the spectacular vistas.
While visiting us if you find yourself hungry, feast on fantastic seafood, tea & coffee, soups, desserts, or enjoy a delicious ice cream treat.
Eastern Passage is also the home of 105.9 Seaside-FM. A community based not-for-profit radio station based here and staffed by volunteers. The Seaside broadcast crew boasts both those from the professional broadcast industry and members from within our community.
They feature a wonderful selection of easy listening favorites from yesterday and today, as well as, an enviable collection of music from some of Atlantic Canada's existing and rising musical stars.

Most of the power lines on Jeep Cres are buzzing like crazy. Have been since Earl.
08 Sep : 22:07
Did anyone else have noisy power lines this morning? We were trying to figure out where the sounds were coming from... almost sounded like sparking. I wonder if that's from salt spray during Earl?!?
08 Sep : 21:41
We were the last to get hooked back up... according to Marc part of our NB crew to the rescue and that was after I called back to Nova Scotia Power and escalated the situation cause the recording was saying we all had power... But the 10 of us on Caldwell still didn't...

i was shocked all though not surprised irving on cow bay ran out of regular gas and only had supreme and was charging a dollar 10 + holding people hostage that had no other option. they should have had it a the regular price since they did not plan and order more gas for this . they were taking advantage with irving it is all about greed usually when the shell in woodside runs out of regular you get the top kind at regular price it is called customer service in stead of corporate GREED not fair when we have this kind of pending emergency situation it will be a long time before i go to irving i will go to shell or ultramar at ultramar you get 2 cents off per litre with the ultramax card and on thursday and friday you get 3.5 cent off per litre thats customer service over corporate GREED something irving is sadly lacking .

Main things to remember in a hurricane situation... clean yard of things that'll blow away... have plenty of food, fresh water and gas in vehicle.. and most dangerous... BEWARE the wave gawkers and media that wash up every time the wind blows in Eastern Passage... idiots.

Jackie Barkhouse has asked me to pass this on to our 105.9 SEASIDE-FM listeners....I thought it should be posted here too.....Here's Jackie's message......"over the next fews days, shoring things up as much as possible in anticipation of 'Earl' this weekend. I have taken a proactive, as opposed to reactive, approach to this situation and am hoping we may be able to avoid or at least limit ...some of the potential damage from storm surge etc. HRM... staff plan to remain within the area during the storm, and be at the ready.
Shore Road, Cow Bay Causeway and The Dyke, remain my biggest areas of concern with respect to storm surge. Cow Bay Road and Shore Road for flooding. That said, we are concentrating in those hotspots, but recognize and expect that other areas may be affected."
If you require Jackie's assistance, e-mail (barkhoj@halifax.ca). you may call her, but her phone may be quite busy....
