The Nova Scotia International Air Show is landing back in
Shearwater next weekend for the first time since 2003.

The two-day show is bringing in the big guns, with fan favourites such as a giant C177 Globemaster, fresh from duties in Afghanistan and Haiti, a CF-188 Hornet and a USN Super Hornet. There will also be vintage displays from aircraft including Bill Laff’s T-6 Texan and an FM2 Grumman Wildcat.

In all, 25 planes will put on aerial shows and about 15 will offer static displays on the ground. The Globemaster will be open for visits with its crew on hand.

To handle the thousands of fans expected to journey out to the Shearwater airport, the show is partnering with Metro Transit to offer Air Show Specials every 15 minutes from the Dartmouth bridge terminal.

The show will also knock $5 off admission for bus users.

The air show runs Saturday, Sept. 11 and Sunday, Sept. 12. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for youth and seniors and free for kids under six. Learn more at nsairshow.ca.
